Thurston Moore Group - Live in Vienna

Ezer Kolibri - Mil Colibríes had the pleasure of recording the live concert of the Thurston Moore Group in Vienna on the 28th of October, 2019, at WUK. The band was touring with Thurston's new album, Spirit Counsel, which is a 2 and a half hour long 3xCD box set, containing three instrumental compositions. At the show in Vienna, the band played two songs from the album. The first one hour long composition is titled 'Alice Moki Jayne' honouring three outstanding female artists, Alice Coltrane, Moki Cherry and Jayne Cortez. The Second song they played at the concert is titled '8 Spring Street', which pays tribute to Glenn Branca, the avant-garde composer whose alternately tuned guitar soundscapes were a great inspiration to Thurston and Sonic Youth.

Members of the Thurston Moore Group are: Thurston Moore on guitar, Deb Googe on bass, James Sedwards on guitar and Steve Shelley on drums. At the concert in Vienna, and at part of the tour, Jem Doulton replaced Steve Shelley on drums.
